THE WARTHOG

DIET:

Grass, roots, bulbs. They will also eat fruit but prefer short grass. They eat in a kneeling position.

The Warthog need to consume water daily.

GENERAL:
They are diurnal (active in the daytime) and spend their nights in old Aardvark dens. They will flee into holes, in a backwards position allowing them to protect themselves with their razor-sharp K-9’s.

Warthogs love mud baths after which they will exfoliate their “mudpacks” by rubbing against tree trunks – they have a habit of digging up the earth in search of grass roots, which usually leads to another mud bath…

Warthogs have poor vision but their keen sense of smell and excellent hearing makes up for this setback. When approaching a Warthog they will usually reciprocate by jogging towards you, only until they realize what you are.

Lions, Leopards, Wild Dogs and Cheetah’s prey on these animals.
